The 3day Western Pennsylvania Christian Ashram is held each October in Jumonville, Pennsylvania. With its beautiful fall foliage and breathtaking vistas , it’s an ideal place for a “mountain top” experience with God. You won’t want to miss “The Cross of Christ” – a 60-foot high white steel cross and the spectacular view from the foot of the cross.
Anticipate the marvelous blessing God is going to pour out this weekend. Although we may be strangers, we hope you feel like family after this retreat experience! If you’ve come before, then you know the transformation of life and defined faith that can take place on this mountain!
Evangelist
We're glad to welcome Reverend Richard Whitaker as our Evangelist. Led by his Sunday school teacher, Dick asked Jesus into his heart as a 2nd grade boy. After graduating high school in 1972, he attended William and Mary College, then transferred to Liberty University as a seminary student. Since graduation in 1977, he continued to serve the Lord as a pastor first in Virginia and most recently in DuBois, PA.
He and his wife, Deborah Kay, four grown children, Derek, Drew, Erin & Ashton, and are proud grandparents of nine. In 2019, Pastor Dick retired from the full-time pastorate at Treasure Lake Church.
Bible Teacher
Christine received Jesus as Savior through a home Bible Study in her early 20’s. Seven years later, God called her into the ministry. Seeking to respond to that call she attended Edinboro University graduating with a Bachelor’s of English degree with a concentration in writing.
Christine hopes to finish her books: "On the Wings of Prayer," "Discerning God’s Voice in a Busy World," and "Strategies of Evangelism for the Local Church." She graduated from Ashland Theological Seminary in 2002 with a Master in Divinity and Pastoral Counseling degree and was ordained in 2005. Christine served eight United Methodist churches throughout the journey and as a General Evangelist for the UM Conference, retiring in 2017. Since then, she has served the Lord wherever He needs her at any given time. She says she is the pastor for whoever needs one.
At the Ashram, she will be teaching on “A Work in Progress.” The key verse is Philippians 1:6 (NIV) “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
